On Friday, Oct. 30, the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 25-year-old Stanwood man on charges of accosting a minor for immoral purposes.

Deputies were initially notified by the Predator Task Force, which went undercover and posed as a 14-year-old boy. The man, identified as Jesse McGee, was confronted at his home about sending inappropriate photos and videos. The Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office was then contacted and responded to the residence.

“It was alleged that the male had been sending inappropriate photos and videos to what he thought was a 14-year-old boy,” the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office said. “After investigating the allegations, deputies arrested the male and he was lodged at the Mecosta County Jail.”
