After more than a week of testing, Michigan State Police announced they have positively identified the remains as those of Brent Patrick Oneil.
Officers discovered the remains in the Rosebush area on Thursday, July 16.
Oneil, 52, was last seen near Weidman on June 30. Rosebush is about 11 miles east of Weidman.
“The investigation continues to be treated as a suspected homicide,” Michigan State Police said. “Although the investigation remains ongoing, investigators do not believe there is any known or ongoing threat to the public.”
